Kambakkht Ishq reviews

BollywoodHungama.com
Bollywood Hungama has put the movie into watchable category and says that the movie will strike a chord with the youth & those who relish zany & madcap entertainers. The review reads, “KAMBAKKHT ISHQ belongs to the same family of films which have wooed the masses, such as MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI, WELCOME, SINGH IS KINNG and GOLMAAL RETURNS. The prime motive is to entertain you for the next 2 hours, logic be damned. Yet, KAMBAKKHT ISHQ is different because it depicts the battle of the sexes, a theme that’s rarely depicted on the Hindi screen. The lingo is poles apart, so is the attitude. In fact, this is a modern take on relationships, with the two hours divided between laughter and emotions, frivolous and reality”.

Rediff.com
The website cleverly compares Akshay Kumar of Bollywood to Will Smith of Hollywood and has put the movie in ‘Not Bad’ category (probably both Akki & Bebo knew that the movie is ‘Not Bad’ that is why they were promoting Love Aaj Kal during the promotion of Kambakkht Ishq in Delhi). Rediff says this about KI, “is a painfully excessive work of burlesque, one so dragged down by the nauseating combination of toilet humour and lazy screenwriting that it makes American Pie look like Brokeback Mountain in comparison. Nope, Kambakkht Ishq is a weak, often revoltingly cheap film that serves merely as aspirin-seller or hangover-simulation”.

Sify.com
‘Not Watchable’. Yeah, this is the category to which Sify has cleverly placed the movie into. The review says, “When filmmakers hype the product over Hollywood stars, a bikini scene, or the location; you can be sure the film’s got nothing. And Kambakkht Ishq confirms this fear. Yes, it’s been shot in Hollywood, there’s a scene in Kodak Theater (the Oscars venue), and Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh make appearances. But to hell with such gimmicks when sitting through the film is such torture”.

    Kambakkht Ishq sucks.

  2. Why would KI be a hit said on July 4, 2009 at 12:26 AM

Why would KI be a hit when both the leads of the movie talk about Saif Ali Khan’s Love Aaj Kal in the promotional event of Kambakkht Ishq. Both Akki & Bebo have ruined the image of KI.
