Priyanka is doing a movie under Yash Raj banners opposite Uday Chopra. Here is the excerpt of a quick chat with her:
What type of a movie is ‘Pyaar Impossible’?
It’s a romantic comedy between a beautiful girl called Alisha & a shy boy called Abhay. He feels that he is not a suitable match for Alisha and this movie is based on his viewpoint.
How come you took so much time to sign a movie with Yashraj Productions?
The movie was discussed long time back but due to certain reasons it had to be delayed. Sometimes there was not a suitable role for me & other times the story had not much space for me.
Did you sign the movie seeing only the banner?
If it had been then I would have signed other movies with big banners only. I don’t see an actor or a director before signing a movie. I have worked with new actors & directors. For me, my every movie is Mughal-E-Azam – be it Drona or Dostana.
The story of the movie seems to be copied from Hollywood movie Notting Hill…
It’s not so. The only similarity is that there is a beautiful girl & a shy boy in both the movies and that he doesn’t think of getting the girl. Julia Roberts has played the role of a superstar in Notting Hill while the boy was simple but the story of Pyaar Impossible is totally different.
Do you think viewers will appreciate your jodi with Uday?
Bollywood is changing a lot. People have started liking movies where there is either no hero nor heroine…. like A Wednesday. If the actors can be associated with real life characters then viewers really like the movie. Pyaar Impossible is the brainchild of Uday. He has actively played role in script writing & production.
Then what was the main reason to sign the movie?
I liked the script. I have always signed movies which I like watching. The story of Pyaar Impossible touched my heart. Many people will like the movie. When I heard the script the only thing that came to my mind was that the same had happened with me earlier. I remember that I was not as beautiful when I was in 8th grade in the US. People didn’t like interacting with me. Then suddenly I found someone whom I liked and many a times I found the person in front of me and I just could not start interaction with the person.
What is Love for you?
I value Love much in my life. Love is not limited to a boyfriend or husband in my life. You may love your friends, parents, family or your colleagues. I feel that nothing is more valuable than love in one’s life. There is a special place of romance in my life. Very special are those who feel loving someone, even if for a moment.
Recently Kareena alleged that you were using her name together with Shahid Kapoor to promote ‘Kaminey’?
‘Kaminey’ is a very good movie and I don’t think we need any name to promote the movie.
Are you doing any movie with Ranbir Kapoor?
Yes. The movie is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala which is being directed by Sidharth Anand.
